My 1999 BMW 328i 4 door locks are not working properly. First, the key will not manually lock/unlock the doors. Second, the remote key will lock/unlock the doors, but within seconds, the car relockes itself. Third, sometimes the driver side window does not automatically go all the way back up on its own after closing the door.
Convertible top won't latch. I have a 2004 330CCI. Over the weekend, when I tried to close the top, it got about 90% completed and then it just froze. The latches were about 2" above the frame. To do the resync, the top has to be in the FULLY DOWN position. You need to release the motors again, manually put the top down, then run the sync procedure. To run the sync, with the ignition off, hold the top down button in the down position and turn the ignition on while continuing to hold the button.
The convertible is in excellent condition, no rust or dents. The yard person told me that the convertible has a bad motor. I bought all the door seals, injectors, passenger mirror, rear deck, and the tonneau top motor for $65 bucks. They want $150 for the complete convertible with the frameIt has a brand new aftermarket rear window.
Sorry to not be anymore help. Don’t have any e36 verts in the shop right now or I would hook up the factory stuff and let you know what program works on the e36. Best I can do is let you know next time one comes in. Usually when the tops don’t work on the e36 it’s a wiring issue with one of the many micro switches or the module is bad.
Hi all, I have a BMW E36 318i from 1996. It is a convertible and the windows seem to have a problem. When you open the doors, the windows drop about 20mm. The motors are working and it does drop but the window only drops about 10mm. I have replaced the window runner clips and this didnt help at all.
