The Canon EF 50mm 1.2 L USM features the typical Canon L build quality, same as e.g. the Canon EF 135mm 2.0 L USM. The lens seems to be made from a mix of high quality polycarbonate and metal. The few marking seem to be only printed on though. Unlike the Canon EF 85mm 1.2 L or the Canon EF 50mm 1.0 L this lens does not feature a focus-by-wire Canon RF 35mm f/1.8 STM. bigger. 9 rounded blades. Electronically actuated. Stops down to f/22. Focal Length. 35mm. When used with an APS-C crop, it sees the same angle of view as a 55mm lens sees when used on a full-frame or 35mm camera. See also Crop Factor. The image quality of the Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM Lens is similar to that of the far more expensive Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8 L USM Lens at 50mm at the same aperture settings. In fact, I would give the edge in corner image quality to the 50mm f/1.4 from f/2.8 to f/4.0. This is probably my favorite lens, or one of them, at least.
With the release of the new 35mm f/1.4L II USM, however, Canon appears to be taking direct aim at Sigma. Just as I was about to upgrade to the EF 16-35mm f/2.8L or the Zeiss 35/1.4
