#2 · Jan 26, 2021 I cleaned the contacts and reseated the wiring connection to the EGR. Thought it was fixed, but it turned out that it was so cold outside (-4 C) that the engine never hit the magic temperature to cause the problem. Driving today in +5 C and the problem re-emerged.Posted November 27, 2022. Hi all, I have owned my Ford Fiesta 1.4 TDCi mk6 for almost 1.5 years now. It has been a great car, cheap tax, insurance, fuel etc. However, the last couple of months I’ve encountered a problem that is getting significantly worse. When starting my car, my idle revs fluctuate a few hundred rpm and the car chugs. Mondeo mk 3 - EGR Valve blanked - problems since - 3uga. NOx usualy forms at high temperatures and high presures. Geting exhaust gases into the intake means less oxigen in the combustion chamber and lower combustion temperatures, reducing the formatin of NOx. NOx forms at such high temperatures that is bad for engine.
Replacement: EGR valve – FORD FIESTA VI Van. Do not use excessive force when removing the part as this may damage it. Step 4. Clean the EGR valve. Use all-purpose cleaning spray. Step 5. Detach the EGR valve connector. Step 6. Remove the EGR valve hose clamp.
Hi, I have a 2009 Ford Focus 1.8 TDCI with 38,000 miles covered. 3,000 miles ago, at motorway speed of 70mph and having covered 60 miles, a misfire started. It became worse and the Engine Malfunction light came on. The car would only now tick over and not respond to the accelerator. Switch off and on again and the car drove reasonably ok again
